About Fall Softball

Thank you for your interest in CV Softball's Fall 2019 Recreation Season!

During the Fall season, CV Softball offers four divisions of play that participate in the West Shore Minors Fast Pitch League (8U, 10U, 12U and 14U).  We also offer free clinics for our 6U/T-Ball division. The division your daughter will play is dictated by your daughter’s age as of December 31, 2019. Jerseys, as well as team equipment (bats, helmets, catchers gear, etc.) will be provided by CV Softball. Parents/Players must provide their own softball glove. Softball pants are also recommended. More information about specific age divisions is provided below.

We also encourage you to reach out to us if you are interested in how you can participate with your daughter by helping CV Softball as a volunteer and/or coach.

Rising 8U Fast Pitch

Girls ages 7 or 8 as of December 31, 2019 will play in a semi-competitive division in the West Shore Minors Fast Pitch League. Practices will begin in early- to mid-August and games will begin once the school year begins. Practices will be scheduled once or twice per week. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons. The season will be completed by the end of October. Away games will require limited travel in the immediate area (reference participating West Shore Minors organizations below). There will be a mid-season weekend tournament with the date and location TBD (weather permitting). Player Pitching and the Catcher position will be introduced at the 8U level. Coach pitch will still be heavily utilized. Girls will have the opportunity to play all position during games throughout the season. Practices will continue to focus on fundamentals of the game such as hitting, fielding, and base running, as well as proper throwing and catching mechanics. Practices will also begin to concentrate on basic situational defense (such as the concepts of force-outs, when to throw to a base vs. run to a base for an out, etc.). There will be a mid-season weekend tournament with the date and location TBD (weather permitting).
Cost is $70 per player.

Rising 10U Fast Pitch

Girls ages 9 or 10 as of December 31, 2019 will play competitively in the West Shore Minors Fast Pitch League. Player pitching is utilized at this level. Girls will begin to be played more frequently at positions where they fit best, but the ability to play different positions (including pitcher) as the opportunity arises throughout the season will remain. Practices will continue to focus on fundamentals of the game such as hitting, fielding, and base running (including stealing and sliding), as well as proper throwing and catching mechanics, however, practices will also begin to focus more heavily on advanced situational defense and offense.
Cost is $70 per player.

Rising 12U Fast Pitch

Girls will be played more frequently at positions where they fit best from a skill development standpoint, but there is the ability for them to play different positions as appropriate and as the opportunity arises throughout the season. Practices will continue to focus on fundamentals of the game such as hitting, bunting, fielding, and base running (including stealing and sliding), as well as proper throwing and catching mechanics, but will also focus on more advanced situational defense and offense.
